Our group’s activities in teaching and research focus on the application of methods of Operations Research and Business Analytics to solve problems in the field of Operations Management, in particular Revenue and Assortment Management as well as Logistics and Transportation.
Main responsibilities:
We are looking for a PhD student who is fascinated by quantitative methods and will carry out state-of-the-art research in Operations Management. In addition to working on a doctoral project, the doctoral candidate will support the team in the areas of teaching and administration.
Requirements for the position:
- Master’s degree (or close to) with honors in business administration, economics, business mathematics, industrial engineering, computer science or a comparable course of study
- Very good knowledge in at least one of the following areas
- combinatorial or nonlinear optimization
- decomposition methods or heuristics
- econometrics or machine learning - Interest in business management / economic problems as well as good programming and English skills
